Social media distractions can be good for you…really!

When I am working with clients - either as individuals or groups - the question of how I find time for social media  is guaranteed to come up. It is one of the most-used reasons for people who tell me that they don' t use social media. And I get that . Really I do. But I wonder how many of those people do a bit of "surfing"  ( that sounds so "old school" to me as I write it - do we still say that?) during the day. Talking to myself

My Mum used to say " I might as well be talking to myself for all the attention you are paying to me " when I was younger. And to be honest she was right. Her message and my willingness to receive it were at odds with each other. And I am sure I said to to my own kids  - though it is funny how my memory is not quite so clear on that! It is amazing what being outside in the countryside can do for freeing up trapped minds. Over time we have built up stamina . When we started we struggled with a ...

I have been with the same hairdresser for more than 25 years. I feel we have grown up together!  When I was having a recent cut I mentioned that I was in awe of how she and her team "read" their customers' hair  - knowing what condition it was in, what kind of product suited the type of hair, what styles would work and - crucially - what wouldn't. She said that she really appreciated that comment . It seems that it  is rare to get positive feedback but it's not that customers are unhappy - otherwise they just would ...
