Do you need a safety net?

I had a great meeting with Diane this morning. One of my favourite places to meet is the local Swanston golf clubhouse – which sits at the foot of the Pentland Hills and from its vantage point  and has wonderful views over Edinburgh  ( take a look at the link to see what I mean!).  As we were leaving I was telling Diane about how Metasaga  works  and to illustrate I took where we were standing in the car park.

All around us were wonderful views – of some of the golf holes, across the Pentland Hills, over to Edinburgh even down to the busy City Bypass . And then I noticed that just behind us there was a high wire fence…

I had never noticed it before. It is clearly meant to catch wayward balls off the first tee before they hit the cars in the carpark. And it prompted these questions

 - do you need to have something in place to catch your “wayward tee shots” or do you just let them go and see where they land?

- does anybody other than you need to know that you have your own “safety net”  and if so who are they? Someone to step in and help when asked – or who you trust to offer help and/or advice when they think you  might need it?

- what barriers have you put up that you don’t realise….maybe haven’t noticed before?

It’s certainly got me thinking today.

I need better barriers up. As a solo practioner with a caseload of 90-something ‘clients’, I need to keep my drives out of the rough, my chips shots soft, and my putting precise.

Now that is taking the metaphor to a new level- and thank you for sharing!
