Why my website banner is orange
Robyn has analysed what the colours used in blog banners have to say about its writer. Here’s what she says about mine.
Orange makes us feel energized - hence the number of fast-food restaurants that use it in their decor. Health and vitality, autumn, youthfulness, fire, steadfastness, courage, confidence, friendliness, cheerfulness, warmth, excitement and energy. Has been known to stimulate the appetite. Vibrant and warm, orange is associated with autumn and the earth.
Apart from the references to fast food restaurants I think the rest is pretty accurate ( especially the reference to youthfulness. Read the post before this one to explain that one!)
There is a very simple explanation for why my business logo/banner etc are orange.
When I set up Cameron Consulting I was recommended a great designer called Sara. She called to discuss what I was looking for. That day I was wearing an orange sweater ( the only garment I had in orange). Every time I wore it somebody commented on how good it looked on me. In fact a stranger on the bus had done so only that day ( which was a bit wierd I have to admit - but hey a compliment’s a compliment). So we agreed that there must be something linking me and orange in a positive way and the rest is history.

Friends have “had their colours done” professionally and have made changes to their wardrobe as suggested by the consultant. I fancy that I know what suits me so I have never gone down that route though I am prepared to accept that there is something in it.
Before this descends into an exclusively girlie post I would like to say that the entire management team of one of my previous employers - probably 95% male - had theirs done. Most of the men made a concession to the findings by changing the colour of their necktie - and it somehow had a positive impact. Or it made me smile anyway!
