My daughter has been a fan of the Welsh band Stereophonics for 9 years now since she was at school. She is particularly fond of the lead singer Kelly Jones wearing the shades in the pic below.
She jokes with her friends that she will meet Kelly one day and end up marrying him. She and I have even driven to the Welsh village where he grew up ( that’s a story for another time!) What young lady has not had such dreams ( mine was of David Cassidy..). Anyway, yesterday - she did get to meet him ( and the rest of the band who were lovely guys she says) as a prize in a charity event. She only had a couple of days to prepare - met them and had some pictures taken and went to their gig as their guests. She kindly donated the tickets she had already bought to her Mum and Dad and as I write this I still have trouble with my hearing. I am praying it is not permanent.
The gig was excellent and I was standing singing at the top of my voice at the end. We then picked up Claire and her friend Kirsty and brought them home.
I have seen her photos today and spoken to her about what it felt like. She said she felt sick with nerves but when she met Kelly she was remarkably calm. They were lovely to her.
So what does it feel like after a dream has come true. I guess a bit unreal - did that really happen? Maybe a bit frustrating - I wish I had said/asked. But what memories!
How can she top that?
If your dream does come true - do you switch to another? Anybody out there want to share a dream come true story?
