Customer dis-service

I was telling my friend Kim about the wonderful experience we had when we stayed at the Peninsula Hotel in Hong Kong – and how their customer/guest service was of the highest standard.  And that during our visit to New Zealand our hosts were all welcoming and could not do enough for us.

And she told me about an experience in a Scottish hotel where she was having coffee and meeting a client where a member of staff insisted that he hang her coat up – which was beside her on a chair – as it was making the place untidy.

Why, oh why, oh why?
