Going with the flow
My daughter Claire’s friend Helen asked her to visit her craft stand at Biggar in the Scottish Borders yesterday so Claire and I set off – before the rain started (again).
Claire had not asked for much in the way of details. This seems to be a Cameron trait – and it is great for getting us to places or into situations that we would not have been in otherwise.
The “craft stall” turned out to be part of the Biggar Show – a HUGE agricultural show for farmers and country folks. When we reached the show ground the car park was full of thousands of cars. Because of the recent heavy rains the ground underfoot was a bit of a quagmire already – and I had turned up like a true townie in the country wearing pale green shoes!
But we were so glad we made the trip as Claire loves pigs – and we saw up close a sow and her 8 piglets. I can’t think of any other way she would have got the opportunity.
Like so much in life you never know what might happen – unless you give it a go.
The Craft Tent was full of interesting stuff, we ate some overpriced, half cooked chips and we escaped from the car park just as the weather turned nasty ( again). Fab day.
