Playing rugby for Scotland….

…well you never know what you can do until you try. That was one of my Mum’s favourite pieces of advice – ( another was that you can’t do better than your best!). So here I am – trying to improve my kicking with the help of Chris Cusiter- in the hope that I can play rugby for Scotland like he does.
OK – I admit that I never had any desire to play rugby but I did win the chance to train with the team last year. I thought I was just going to meet the team and when I found out that I would be expected to kit up and train with their fitness coach I tried to pull out. But I was persuaded to go ahead and along with 9 others we had a wonderful day.
Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought I could do the routines that we were put through – but I did ( my best) and had such fun doing it.
I was working with some 2nd and 3rd year pupils at Hawick High School at that time, where rugby is very important, and when I showed them the pic they were actually very impressed – confused but impressed.
Go on – try something new today.
