Hello and thank you for coming by.

Sometimes it is hard to see the wood for the trees. Working with a coach can help you gain clarity.  Instead of providing solutions I listen to what my clients tell me and I ask questions to help them find their own! (Most people I speak to don’t actually like being told what to do…)

During a coaching session I ask them what they are aiming for, to tell me about their current situation, to explore the options and then decide on the next steps. That’s all there is to it.

It can be hard, sometimes challenging, often enlightening, usually encouraging.

Here’s some ideas of what I offer

Personal Development Coaching

Do you want to do your job more effectively? Maybe feedback in performance appraisals has suggested some areas for development but you are not sure how to approach it  0r whether you agree for that matter.  Maybe you feel are stuck in your current role and want to look for an alternative - with your employer or elsewhere? Have you a dearly held ambition to do something completely different but don’t know whether to take the first step and what to do if you do?  Get in touch to find out how coaching could help.

Coaching for interview

I have often been on the interviewing side of the table and been frustrated that the person sitting oppposite me can’t tell me why they are the right person for the job. Sometimes it is about not having prepared in relation to the job specification , other times it is about nerves, very often it is about lack of confidence in expressing their own abilities.

At this time when many people find themselves looking for a new job unexpectedly  it just might be that you are out of practice.

Why not consider a “coaching for interview” session where we can find out what you want a potential employer to know about you, think about questions that might come up and how you will use stories to answer them and even discuss what you are going to wear! Get in touch for more information.

Is your job search stuck?

You have applied for numerous jobs in your sector/specialism. You have only been invited to interview a couple of times and you did not get any of those jobs. You are frustrated, angry maybe - and your confidence is slipping.

Do yourself a favour and take time to take stock. Think about what you have in skills, what you really love to do and how you might make a living from doing it. Reflect on what you have learned about yourself in the time you have been out of work. Work on your network of friends, former colleagues and customers or clients to find out if they can help.

Investing  2 hours of your time and £150  could be all you need to get you  moving again!

If you are based in the Edinburgh and Lothians area I can offer face to face coaching. Coaching by phone is also a possibility for those of you further afield.
