Could something I did really change someone’s life?

I was surprised and really touched to read this post  last week. Kaye’s comments made me smile. My instinct was to go down the “it was nothing” route but taking a moment to reflect if Kaye says that’s what I did how discourteous of me would it be to disagree?

Then I had a conversation with a teacher friend who told me that a student with whom she had had a tricky relationship told her that she was the best teacher she had ever had – because she cared.

And a coaching colleague shared a story of how a client credited one of her coaching questions for turning her life around.

I thought about people who had had a major impact on my life – there are many for all sorts of reasons. Few – if any – of them would be aware of that because it either never occurred to me to tell them or it is only as I reflect now that I realise what happened.

Everybody has the ability to do something that can impact positively on another person’s life and just because you don’t hear about it does not mean it has not happened!

You could write and tell them?

And I still want to get a gratitude site going for the thanks-and-run situations of urban life!

so true…. it’s lovely to think that we can impact people and not even know it!

And to think you prompted me to write this post too!

Good idea Jo – both the writing to tell and your website idea…how can we help?
