It was my daughter’s first day in her new job today. She quickly noticed that there were fish all over the place and eventually had to ask what was going on. Her new employer uses the FISH! philosophy in their personal development. If you have never heard of it it is based on what happens at a fish market in Seattle in the US.It appears to be a great place to work and according to the book this is because the employees are asked to do 4 things

This coincided with me bumping into a young friend who was not happy at their work a few months ago. They were full of tale of woe of how things were for them. It was a surprise as they are usually very sunny and chatty. I wondered out loud if their attitude was making it worse and said so. ( I am not usually so direct but it needed to be asked).

I suggested that they think about it. Maybe I was wrong but it seemed at odds with the person I knew.

Anyway - rather neatly for this story I suppose - they are much happier with what they are doing and said that they did reflect on their attitude and didn’t like it -so changed it.

It’s not rocket science! Choose your attitude and see what impact it has on your day.
